Dato' Dr. Mansor Md. Isa is a Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya. He received his Bachelor of Economics from the University of Malaya in 1979, MBA from Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium in 1982, and Ph.D. in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Pittsburgh in 1989. He has been a lecturer with the University of Malaya since 1982. In 1996 Dr. Mansor Isa was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Pacific Basin Capital Market Research Center at the University of Rhode Island, USA. In 2001 he was the ASEAN Distinguished Visiting Professor at Gadjah Mada University, Jogjakarta, Indonesia. From June 2003 until January 2007, he was the founding Director of the Department of Malaysian Studies at Cairo University, Egypt. He was the founding Dean of the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya when it was established in 1997. He was the Program Chair in organizing the Tenth Annual PACAP/FMA International Finance Conference in Kuala Lumpur in October 1998, and the Second Malaysian Finance Association Annual Symposium in KL in 2000. Dr. Mansor Isa’s main areas of specialization are Corporate Finance, Investments and Capital Markets. He teaches these courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and also supervises many master’s and Ph.D. theses. He also researches and publishes in local and international journals. He currently sits on editorial boards of the following academic journals: Pacific Basin Finance Journal, Capital Markets Review, Asian Academy of Management Journal, Gadjah Mada International Journal of Business, Journal of Accounting and Corporate Governance and Asian Academy of Management Journal of Finance and Accounting. He was the President of the Pacific Basin Financial Management Society in 1998. He was the President of the Malaysian Finance Association from 2000 to 2004. He served as Chairman of the Examination Committee of the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) in 2001 and 2002. He was also a council member of the Bank Mediation Bureau and a Board member of the Employee Provident Fund in 2001-2003. In January 2004, he was conferred Dato' Setia Di Raja Kedah by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kedah.
